Information System of an Orienteering Section

This thesis is devoted to a designation and realisation of the information system of orienteering club in Opava. The information system provides users a registration for events and subsequent transport organisation. The integral part of the information system is finance management which affects the cash balance of linked personal user's accounts. The information system provides information and results of permanent courses with and upload tool for personal performances of the users. Another purpose of the information system is a post publishing function that aims to convey information and to review events. The thesis emphasises simplicity and intuition. The information system is built on Python with the use of the Flask framework. The graphic user interface is created by the Bootstrap CSS framework using JavaScript technology. Map machine recognition and optimal path planning

This masters thesis continues in the work of two previous theses dealing with machine understanding of maps and modelling terrain. The final program also has to be able to interpret position data from dataloggers and integrate it with the loaded map. The goal for the program is to serve during training of Czech orienteering runners. Position measurement and storage is researched first. Also researched are map markers used to define the terrain. Afterwards, past approaches are evaluated, including identification of most severe issues hindering the usage in real world applications. Many improvements are proposed, for example methods to remove noise in the input data, or to improve processing speed. Lastly, a set of possible improvements to the original applications are made, i.e. methods for denoising the input data or for speedup of the image processing. Proposed improvements are then implemented, the most impactful being processing speed and contour segmentation improvements.

Automated speaker for orienteering races

This work describes an automatic commentator application for a sport called orienteering. This is an autonomous commentary on the ongoing race. The reason is to increase the attractiveness for the average viewer.Communication with humans is guaranteed using the text to speech function. The application uses inputs directly from the plant premises with the help of RACOM, where it then decides and selects interesting moments using an algorithm and a mathematical formula.

Automatically-directed live broadcasts of sport events

This thesis deals with creating a software, that directs live broadcast of sport events automatically. This system is designed to work with a series of IP cameras, adding some context graphics through videoproduction software. The result of this thesis will be generating outputs for media server on the Internet and big-screen television. The new software will be used for local network production studio.

Use of orienteering in the 1st grade of elementary school

This thesis focuses on the utilization of orienteering as an educational tool at the primary level of elementary school. Its aim is to create a methodological guide for teachers that will help them incorporate orienteering into their teaching. The theoretical part is divided into three main chapters. The first chapter defines the issue of fulfilling educational goals in relation to the curriculum: the second chapter explores the younger school-aged child and their development in terms of orientation and movement capabilities: and the third part is devoted to the characteristics of orienteering, including its basic principles, history, and the evolution of the sport. The practical part focuses on the creation of a methodological guide for teachers. It provides specific information on how to integrate orienteering into teaching at the primary level of elementary school. The guide includes games and activities that progressively increase in difficulty. The outcome of this work is a comprehensive methodological guide that provides teachers with resources and ideas for effectively incorporating orienteering into their teaching at the primary level. Evaluation of dynamic postural stability of orienteers suffering chronic ankle instability

Kateřina Janovská Title: Evaluation of dynamic postural stability of orienteers suffering chronic ankle instability Objectives: The aim of the study was to assess dynamic postural stability in orienteers aged 15-25 years suffering from chronic ankle instability, who compete at the national level of orienteering competitions, and to compare the obtained data with a control group, which consisted of orienteers of the same age with no history of ankle joint injury. Methods: 29 orienteering runners of age 15-25 years participated in the measurement. 28 probands were included in the study, of which 8 probands formed the control group and 20 probands formed the research group. The measurement took place in a physiotherapy outpatient clinic during 2022. All probands completed a short anamnestic questionnaire and were examined with tests for ankle joint instability and hypermobility tests according to the Beighton Score. Both groups of probands underwent a single measurement of dynamic postural stability on the Y-balance test. Microsoft Excel 365 and GraphPad Prism (version 9.3.1) were used to evaluate the obtained data. Metodic book for preparing the Orienteering for teachers on university of sports.

The bachelor thesis entitled "Factors influencing the successful completion of orienteering at sport schools" deals with the origin and development of orienteering in the theoretical part. Furthermore, it deals with basic rules and describes specific map for orienteering which includes special mapping key that is needed to know and understand. It also describes how the participant should be properly dressed and equipped. In the practical part is specified participation in orienteering and obtaining of specific results which are then analysed and compared whether the established hypotheses are confirmed or not. There are also attached examples of race tracks in annex which students attended and control points that had to find. This thesis evaluates primarily the factor which is the correct work with the map and orientation in the terrain according to the map.
